As a credible expert in People & Capability, you will provide stakeholder-aligned advice on workforce risks, strategic workforce planning, critical skills and capability build, IR strategy and workforce investment decisions as a trusted advisor. You will partner closely with the Assets & Infrastructure Leadership team and P&C colleagues to deliver both local and organisational-wide people programs, ensuring strong alignment between business needs and subject matter expertise.

Key responsibilities

  • Deeply understand the employee experience across our technical and trade workforce, and in partnership with P&C Centres of Excellence, inform key people strategies including industrial relations, remuneration and resourcing
  • Mobilise cross-functional teams to deliver programs of work in a coordinated, customer-centric manner
  • Translate the organisational and people strategy into local workforce, capability and culture priorities for your business area, adding value, partnerships and plans to deliver
  • Provide key insights on people matters and actively influence and support successful embedding of people strategies
  • Provide expert guidance and influence leaders to adopt new P&C frameworks, policies and ways of working

There is an expectation of regular travel to our sites across Tasmania to build relationships, align to operational requirements, and deeply understand the employee experience.

Skills & experience

  • Significant experience in strategic HR business partnering or senior advisory roles within complex operational environments (exposure to industrial environments and/or regional workforces will be highly regarded)
  • Strong demonstrated experience developing and implementing people initiatives and providing strategic advice to senior leaders
  • Commercial acumen with ability to understand business drivers and translate into people solutions
  • Outstanding communication, relationship-building and stakeholder influence skills
  • Ability to mobilise and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver business-aligned programs of work
  • Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity (and coach others to do the same)
