What you will do
- You will be responsible for ensuring the proper management of consumption and load curve metering for customer supply points, self-consumption systems, and generators for the EDP Group's distribution companies in Spain, as well as for the preparation of energy balances, ensuring compliance with regulations and established deadlines.
- In this role, you will set the area's guidelines and priorities, ensuring they adapt to a constantly evolving energy and regulatory environment. You will lead a specialized team, drive the transformation and continuous improvement of processes and systems, and participate in strategic decisions that directly impact the quality, efficiency and future of the business.
- You will also play a key role in representing EDP's distribution companies within the sector, building relationships and partnerships with different stakeholders, including REE, CNMC, other distribution companies, manufacturers and industry bodies. You will contribute to defining EDP's position and represent and advocate for its interests in the sector's main forums and working groups.
- All of this will be carried out in accordance with the applicable internal policies and regulations regarding prevention, environmental matters and internal control, with the aim of ensuring the highest quality and reliability of the metering required for energy settlement, network tariff invoicing and the preparation of energy balances.
Primarily:
- Lead the processing and monitoring of electricity meter readings, defining processes, criteria, and indicators for quality and compliance with deadlines; overseeing discrepancies and facilitating the resolution of issues.
- Oversee the preparation of energy balances, establishing key lines of work, monitoring the evolution of losses, and supporting the team in resolving complex issues.
- Ensure the availability and transmission of electricity meter readings to various internal and external stakeholders and systems, guaranteeing their quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory deadlines: electricity retailers, the System Operator, CNMC, DATADIS, Mi Consumo, invoicing systems, etc.
- Lead and develop the team by communicating objectives and priorities, fostering autonomy and decision-making, providing feedback, and promoting professional development and a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and optimizing processes and criteria related to the processing, estimation, and validation of metering.
- Promote the evolution of systems to meet new regulatory and business requirements, by actively participating in the functional design and all other phases of development and collaborating with the Digital Global Unit (DGU) to ensure robust, flexible, efficient, and tailored to business needs solutions.
- Develop industry relationships and partnerships, working with counterparts at other distributor companies and other stakeholders to promote working groups and advocate for the interests of EDP's distribution companies in Spain. Represent the company in technical and institutional forums.
- Ensure the implementation of policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety, the environment, and internal control within your area of responsibility.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a professional with solid experience in the electricity sector, a comprehensive understanding of the business, and leadership skills, combining technical excellence, a drive for continuous improvement, and a results-oriented mindset.
Experience and Leadership
- University degree or equivalent, preferably with a technical focus
- At least 5 years of experience in the electric power sector. Experience in the processing of electricity metering and energy balance will be highly valued.
- Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, fostering autonomy, professional development, and problem-solving skills among team members.

- Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to build relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders: REE, other distribution companies, industry associations, manufacturers, etc.
Tools and Languages
- Advanced Office 365 user, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- English: B2 level
