Job description
We are looking for a Field Technician to join our customer service team. The technician will be responsible for visiting customer sites, understanding and diagnosing technical issues, performing troubleshooting and basic repairs, and ensuring timely resolution of customer queries related to rooftop solar systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit customer sites to inspect and resolve technical complaints.
- Diagnose issues related to solar PV systems, inverters, wiring, AC/DC systems, meters, and monitoring devices.
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, and basic repair/replacement activities.
- Check system performance and identify the root cause of customer complaints.
- Coordinate with the technical/ONM team for issues requiring further technical support.
- Ensure customer complaints are resolved within the defined TAT/SLA.
- Explain the issue and resolution clearly to customers.
- Maintain proper records of site visits, issues identified, actions taken, and resolution status.
- Capture required site photographs and technical readings during visits.
- Escalate major or recurring technical issues to the concerned team.
- Follow all safety procedures while working at customer sites.
- Ensure proper handling of tools, equipment, and spare parts provided for field work.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Solar / related technical field.
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical, solar, inverter, or field service operations.
- Basic understanding of rooftop solar systems and electrical equipment.
- Ability to use basic electrical testing tools such as a multimeter and clamp meter.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable travelling to customer locations.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Valid two-wheeler driving licence.
