TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate Business Developer at our location Amsterdam who will contribute to this and that might be you?

Your contribution to TenneT

Equigy is a European joint Venture company deploying a blockchain based platform, to act as the gateway between TSO national markets for flexible power delivery (ancillary services markets) and Distributed Energy Resources (DER). Equigy is fully owned and funded by European TSO's with Terna, Swissgrid, TenneT Germany and TenneT Netherlands as founding fathers.

Until now, TSO national markets for flexible power delivery were in most cases accessible only to large B2B market players with large industrial power generation and power consumption assets such as power plants or industrial production lines. Since these ancillary markets present an opportunity of billions across Europe annually, unlocking these as a B2C market via the CBP allows DER owners to gain significant additional value, greatly enhancing the justification for the investment case for such DER devices. In turn, more participation of such devices unlocks a huge potential of additional flexibility for TSO's and DSO's for balancing and congestion management. Equigy’s CBP realizes this ambition, amongst others by creating an easy and standardized market access for aggregators to encourage more participation of DER in today’s markets.

As Business developer you perform a pivotal role in the realization of business value for the participating Equigy consortium partners, thereby contributing to the energy transition. You are responsible for creating, extending and maintaining relationships with relevant market parties and potential new TSO’s. You create new concepts, contribute to marketing and communication initiatives. Your focus is on extending Equigy’s business network, working together with CEO, CTO, marketing & communication officer and business consultants. In Equigy, you will be part of a small and international team that works together across countries on different TSO and Equigy projects, in partnership with a large international IT supplier.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the CEO Equigy’s strategies and business development activities across Europe, working closely with the Management Team on the execution.
  • Collaborate with the broader Equigy team to ensure the alignment of initiatives across different areas of the business.
  • Hosts and facilitate business development meetings with other TSOs and/or stakeholders.
  • Represents Equigy in external strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Presents Equigy’s proposition in seminars.
  • Contributes to Equigy’s strategic roadmap, by bringing in new ideas on relevant future innovations and partnerships.
  • Actively contributes to Equigy’s thought leadership, for instance by creating external material for our website and/or social media channels, as well as identifying opportunities to partner with relevant parties.

Skills

  • Bachelor/academic working level and a relevant degree, preferably in energy or management consulting related fields.
  • You have a thorough understanding of the Energy market in general and balancing/congestion management services specifically.
  • You have at least 4-5 of experience in consulting, business development roles and/or relationship management roles.
  • You have good communicative and social skills, and are able to effectively manoeuvre in a complex playing field with different stakeholders from multiple countries.
  • You are able to create a strong relationship with business stakeholders.
  • You have experience in international teams and are able to work with people of different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong writing, critical thinking, and analytic ability. Able to produce excellent written communications for internal and external audiences.
  • You are highly self-organizing and plan your personal workload effectively, especially because the Equigy team is spread across Europe with a lot of remote collaboration.
  • You are analytical and you’re able to do proper judging quickly.
  • Fluency in English is a must, both verbal as in writing.
