We at Northvolt Poland is now looking for our next Senior Hardware Design Engineer!

In this role, you'd be acting as the team's leading expert on hardware development and have a chance to participate in a wide range of activities in different phases of product development. You would work in cooperation with HW teams in creating products (PCBs) with Design For Production and Design For Testing in view, and aiding the Compliance Team with EMC testing activities. You will help Test Engineers in Validation activities, aiding with test methods, designing test setups and interpreting test results.

In this position you would be given the experience of lithium cell revolution, participating in development from a clean slate all the way to the product market release and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participation in design of PCBs, acting as EMC expert for other teams, reviewing designs and giving feedback on projects.
  • Helping Validation Lab with their testing activities such as test setup designs and builds.
  • Witnessing EMC tests in external labs, contributing to Compliance certification tasks.
  • Leading internal Validation projects of PCBs design.
  • Developing new validation methods applicable in products testing & manufacturing.

Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • BSc or MSc in electrical engineering or equivalent,
  • 5+ years of hardware development engineering in a team environment,
  • Experience in prototyping, soldering, debugging and validation,
  • Hardware knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of digital and analog circuits, microcontrollers, with emphasis on EMC problems,
  • Ability to understand and identify product trade-offs (power, performance, etc.) and optimize designs to meet requirements,
  • Additional knowledge with DC-DC converters, battery management units, power management and low analog circuits is a plus,
  • Experience of working with PLM, Polarion and Jira/Confluence or Altium365 is a plus,
  • Knowledge of standards and regulations such as FCC, IEC and ISO.
