Job Description
For our location in Freiburg im Breisgau, we at NexWafe are looking for a Process Development Engineer (f/m/d) - Data Science.

As a Process Development Engineer (f/m/d) - Data Science, you will actively contribute to the commercialization of this technology by ensuring that process and characterization data is properly collected and analyzed.

Your Mission
- Support colleagues by collecting measurement data and enabling them to analyze it in more automated ways.
- Continuous acquisition of knowledge regarding characterization methods and their applications for individual processes, input materials, end products, and intermediates.
- Procurement, development, and establishment of cloud-based data repositories and data analysis.
- Development of methods to incorporate Machine Learning into our processes and analysis, for example in defect analysis through use of image recognition and quantification.
- Identification of possible process flow improvements through data analysis.
- Conducting experiments and data analyses.
- Operation of characterization tools.
- Coordination of external characterization methods.
Your profile
- Degree in computer science, data science, natural sciences, engineering, or equivalent.
- In-depth data visualization and modelling skills, including knowledge of Power BI or similar tools, and data regression packages, such as JMP.
- Industrial experience (3-5 years).
- Deep understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
- Good programming skills (e.g. in Python, R).
- Experience in handling data of varying quantity and quality.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Knowledge of process development or production environments, knowledge of silicon processing would be an advantage.
- Analytical mindset.
- Thorough and structured work approach.
- Good communication skills.
