Job Description

For our location in Freiburg im Breisgau, we at NexWafe are looking for a Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d).

As a Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d), you will actively contribute to the commercialization of this technology by ensuring that process and characterization data is properly collected and analyzed.

Your Mission

  • Build and maintain data pipelines from local systems to cloud platforms.
  • Develop and deploy AI/ML models to extract actionable insights, optimize processes, and predict outcomes.
  • Create and manage intuitive Power BI dashboards that support both operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
  • Apply statistical methods and promote data literacy across cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure data governance and quality, maintaining consistency, traceability, and usability of data.
  • Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) and advanced analytics to monitor, analyze, and improve process stability.
  • Act as a central enabler of digital transformation, collaborating with different teams to drive innovation through data.

Your profile

  • Degree in computer science, data science, natural sciences, engineering, or equivalent.
  • In-depth data visualization and modelling skills, including usage and implementation of tools such as Power BI or similar tools.
  • In-depth statistical modelling skills including usage and implementation of data analysis softwares, such as JMP.
  • Industrial experience (min. 5 years).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and architectures such as Azure, including services like MS Fabric.
  • Good programming skills (e.g. in Python, R), including strong SQL skills.
  • Experience in handling data of varying quantity and quality such as data cleaning, anomaly detection, and feature engineering.
  • Proven track record of deploying ML models into production and maintaining them at scale.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Thorough and structured work approach.
  • Good communication skills.
