Job Description
Matrix Renewables is a renewable energy platform that was founded by global alternative asset manager TPG through its impact investing platform, TPG Rise, in 2020. Headquartered in Madrid, Matrix Renewables focuses on developing, constructing and being long-term owners of renewable energy assets.

The Role
The Supply Chain Director (SCD) will be responsible for securing equipment, material and service purchases, supply, and contracts for construction of PV, battery energy storage (BESS), and other renewable energy generation sources.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Manage a growing procurement team and coordinate with other departments in Matrix US and Matrix Madrid
- Develop tendering and contracting strategies to support company goals
- Manage competitive tendering, negotiation and contract execution for PV and co-located BESS and stand-alone BESS projects, and other renewable generation assets.
- Develop and maintain beneficial business relationships with suppliers
- Review and compare vendor proposals; negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and mitigate risk through negotiation of terms and conditions.
- Work with the legal team on structuring and negotiating procurement contracts
- Understand and maintain knowledge of the PV and BESS EPC construction material & services supply market; develop and implement strategies to ensure cost effective supply of EPC materials & services to meet the build plan.
- Assist with input and continuous forecast and update of CAPEX and OPEX related budget numbers to financial models to support project feasibility assessment.
- Coordinate with the development, construction, and engineering teams to support demand forecasting and contracting strategies.
- Support Financing team on the Financing and Tax Equity process, agreements negotiation and due diligence.
- Manage documentation, budgets, schedules, and key stakeholder interfaces including tight account management of key suppliers such as NXT, FSLR and Virginia Transformers.
- Identify and perform due diligence on potential new suppliers
- Work with brokers and insurance providers to provide an insurance mix required by each project
- Act as the point of contact to suppliers in the sourcing process and coordinate with internal departments
- Manage the full sourcing process (including demand/market analysis, RFI, RFP, negotiation, contract, and award)
- Support stakeholders with any contract implementation, contract management and supply related issues
- Maintain active pricing history and database for US PV and BESS material & services supply, including EPC pricing and trend.
- Manage purchase orders, variations orders, invoice workflow, owned and due LDs calculations and documentation
- Support key internal and external stakeholders during the complete duration of the supply or service agreement, negotiation, execution and closing.
Qualifications
- Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction or Business Management or other related degree
- 10+ years’ experience in PV & BESS Supply Chain management and purchasing
- Thorough knowledge of competitive bid process of EPC contracts and negotiation techniques.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing PV & BESS supply and construction contracts
- Knowledge (suppliers, markets, trends) of the renewable energy industry
- Experience in applying efficient procurement processes, structures, and analytical tools
- Proven network of main equipment and services providers in US, desirable in other regions.
