YOUR MISSIONS

Voltalia's subsidiary for the O&M and EPC third party services is looking for an Energy Storage Expert with the know-how and the energy to support the growth of this technology as part of more and more PV projects. The main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate energy storage engineers in all management aspects;
  • Provide consulting, design, calculation and services to internal and external clients;
  • Setup of a database with all the batteries types, suppliers, specifications, prices to be able to advise on the most suitable battery system based on requirements, costs, delivery time, lifespan, specifications and others, being at the forefront of the development of new battery solutions;
  • Deploy procedures that allow to trend accurately the technologies and battery prices in the short, medium and long terms, managing the technological development by analyzing competitors, the market and leasing with customers and universities;
  • Manage your own technical research relating to wind power and solar storage systems and batteries;
  • Develop together with the COE team new strategic solutions and processes improvements, including for both operational plans & maintenance of battery storage systems (O&M);
  • Mentor and coach other more junior professional staff as needed.
  • Coordinate and perform, when needed, the following tasks:
  • Analysis of received technical information for a specific project (including RFP/RFQ and tenders) that impacts the energy storage project design;

Solutions optimization, considering both technical and economic views;

  • Provide inputs to CAD Design Team for the design of Storage Systems, regarding local constraints, specificities of the project, electrical configuration and technical conditions;
  • Execution of preliminary layouts and electrical diagrams (Single Line Diagrams - SLD);
  • Monitoring of all his project's energy storage drawings and final review (verification of such of external service providers when subcontracted by Voltalia);
  • Contact with suppliers for technical discussion of existing and/or alternative solutions, or under technical arrangements to electrical infrastructures;
  • Bill of quantities preparation (on the electrical and energy storage side);
  • Execution of technical documents (Written Parts, Drawings, O&M Dossier);
  • Perform Technical Descriptions, Technical Calculation, Technical Specifications, Drawing for projects licensing, EPC and execution;
  • Technical assessment and support in Site Surveys;
  • Perform Executive Designs (on the Electrical and energy storage area);
  • Provide technical support during construction and execute the As Built documentation according to the changes made during the construction.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Master Degree or Degree in Electrical/ Electrotechnical Engineering - Specialization in Energy Systems (preferred);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience related to battery storage;
  • At least 2 years of experience in coordination positions is desirable;
  • Experience with lead acid, NiCad, lithium-ion and flow batteries is preferred;
  • Deep understanding of the electrical and thermal aspects of battery storage;
  • Commercial experience with construction contracts and contractors for utility scale battery storage project;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Fluency in English. French and/or Portuguese are a plus;
  • Availability for national and international travels.
