Responsibilities and tasks

You will be the business partner and primary overseer of the German part of our business as you will be responsible for the daily business controlling of activities as well as you will run the budget- and forecast processes. Naturally, there is differences in the economic procedures between the countries, and you will have an important task in building bridges to a general "Semco-way". It means that you are the specialist with in-depth knowledge within complex controlling as well as you can do performance analysis, and operational guidance.

Besides the controlling team in Esbjerg your primary collaborators will be Managers and colleagues in Germany where your working days will include (but are not limited to):

  • Reporting, analysing and following up on monthly financial accounts
  • Preparing group reporting of monthly result with accuracy and transparency
  • Driving and managing the budget- and forecast processes ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Analysing trends and implementing improvements
  • Ensuring quality and alignment and streamlining of data, systems, and processes
  • Controlling of projects and tenders

About you

To succeed you are motivated to take ownership of tasks, where you always have control over structure, data and deadlines. You have a strong analytical eye and aim to deliver high quality with all details on point, and you prioritize without losing track. Crucial is your ability to interact with stakeholders within our organisation; we are a service function, and therefore you are a motivated team player with a business-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to how you best contribute to projects and colleagues.

There can be various entry points to the position. For us, the most important thing is that you are educated in economics, have knowledge of applicable accounting regulations and principles, and experienced in business controlling - preferably from a project company. Further, you are an experienced Excel user - and preferably also a user of Power Bi/Query/Pivot - with excellent analytical skills enabling you to contribute to business discussions based on your data.

This does not necessarily mean that you master it at a high level; the most important thing is that you can make yourself understood in writing and speech, and that you thrive in a multi-cultural environment. German skills are an advantage.
