Job Description
Would it motivate you to work directly with renewable energy assets, ensuring they operate to their full potential and thereby accelerate the green transition? As an Operations Engineer with European Energy, you are responsible for the technical operation of a portfolio of assets, including troubleshooting and resolving various challenges.

WELCOME TO THE ASSET MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
The Asset Management department comprises 108 colleagues located across Denmark, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Brazil. The department includes Technical Asset Management, Commercial Asset Management, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M). Together, we are responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of power-producing assets. We provide asset management services for both internal and external assets, as well as power sales services.
You will be an important part of our Operations Management team, which plays a key role in the technical operation of our solar parks and battery system. Together with our Operations Execution department, a committed team of colleagues working on site of our assets, you will secure the production of our assets. You will work together with our in-house Technical & Commercial Asset Management team, EPC, Project Development, IT division, and Innovation department to achieve our main goal of operating our assets with special focus on performance optimization and cost minimization.
HOW YOU WILL CREATE IMPACT
As an Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the efficient monitoring and operations of our solar and battery sites in Denmark. Your work plays an important role in delivering on our O&M service contracts, which are overseen by a Solar O&M Manager who manages client contact and contract performance. The primary focus of your role will be remote troubleshooting of the systems deployed across the country.
While maintaining a close collaboration with our internal OT department and EPC department, you will be responsible for corrections and improvements of the sites control systems, electrical infrastructure, system configuration, and site documentation. As part of the operations management team, you will also be involved in the day-to-day monitoring of our projects and interact frequently with the O&M service team that works on our sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Deploy a safety-first approach in your actions during troubleshooting, interventions, and site visits.
- Oversee daily operational performance, identifying errors and creating work orders for the service team to ensure uptime of the systems.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on equipment or system failures, collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure resolution and prevent recurrence through corrective actions including development and implementation of SOPs.
- Maintain and operate solar and BESS systems, control systems, and act as operational subject matter expert on PPC and BMS configuration.
- Update and create documentation for electrical and logical system architectures.
- Drive engineering design tasks, retrofit projects, and technical implementation activities.
- Provide hands-on, on-site technical support to O&M technicians across multiple utility-scale solar & BESS parks.
- Coordinate effectively with manufacturers and internal teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support implementation and commissioning of new equipment and technologies, ensuring smooth integration into operations and providing technical expertise to operators and technicians.
- Collaborate across functions to establish a central SCADA approach within European Energy.
WE IMAGINE THAT YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES
- You hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- You have at least three years of experience in the operations of renewable energy assets, supported by a strong technical foundation.
- You previously worked with industrial control systems and have knowledge about grid integration of energy systems.
- You have a strong understanding of health, safety and quality requirements in field operations.
- You possess a solid understanding of relevant local legislation.
- You have experience in technical documentation.
- You demonstrate strong skills in Microsoft Office 365 and data analysis.
- You are fluent in both English and Danish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
As a person, you are proactive and a good communicator. You possess a natural urge to constantly optimize the assets systems and drive change processes. You have an eye for detecting issues before they arise and take effective actions using a technical and safety-first approach.
