Job Description
Are you ready to play a central role in accelerating the green transition? We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded leader to head our global Power-to-X (PtX) business and drive the next phase of growth across Denmark and international markets.
Why This Role Matters
Following the successful commissioning of our first two Power-to-X plants, European Energy is scaling up to larger facilities that will further reduce the cost of green fuels. These projects build on proprietary solutions and extensive hands-on experience across development, design, construction, and operations. At the same time we are constantly looking into new technology advancements that can enhance our efficiency and create new partnership opportunities from an offtake perspective.
As Executive Vice President, Head of Power-to-X, you will shape the future of this growing business area, expanding our portfolio and strengthening European Energy's position as one of the leaders in the industry on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will
- Define and execute the strategic direction and priorities of European Energy's Power-to-X activities;
- Lead and develop a diverse, high-performing leadership team;
- Lead the execution of complex, large-scale projects outside Denmark, navigating diverse regulatory and cultural environments;
- Be part of European Energy´s executive leadership team;
- Contribute with commercial and technical insight to executive and board-level decision-making;
- Drive licensing of proprietary process technology;
- Evaluate investment opportunities and manage existing investments;
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships across geographies and technologies;
- Ensure European Energy remains at the forefront of technological and commercial feasibility in a rapidly changing industry.
About the Power-to-X Department
You will lead a department of more than 70 highly engaged colleagues, covering project development, process engineering, and EPC capabilities. The team works closely with functions across the European Energy value chain to deliver integrated and scalable Power-to-X solutions.
What You Bring
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who bring relevant experience and leadership capability. Ideally, you will have:
- A Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics etc.;
- 15+ years of leadership experience in complex, project based organizations with large and complex CAPEX investments;
- Experience from the energy sector;
- Experience working across commercial and technical disciplines;
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills;
- Full professional proficiency in English;
- A strategic, collaborative, and results oriented approach to leadership.
