As an Environmental Attributes Operations Analyst, you will ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our REC and carbon offset back office operations. Your primary responsibility will be supporting and optimizing the operational processes associated with selling, tracking, billing, payment, retirement, and marketing of environmental attributes, while also ensuring compliance with regulations. Attention to detail, process efficiency, and a strong focus on operational excellence will be critical in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the product manager on the day-to-day operations of renewable energy credits (RECs) and carbon offsets businesses, ensuring adherence to internal processes.
  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, billing, accounting, origination, and trading team to manage the overall operations of RECs and carbon offsets.
  • Monitor and analyze market and customer data to identify operational trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain efficient operational processes, workflows, and controls to reduce operational risks.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of trading activities with other departments such as finance, legal, and compliance.
  • Assist with regular audits and reconciliations of trading, sales, and billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate reports and provide insights on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices related to REC and carbon offset trading operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, environmental studies) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with advanced data manipulation, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques to extract insights and support operational decision-making processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
