Imagine a future where you develop or enhance your expertise in a key SCADA area, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Ørsted's metering systems for renewable energy generation
Join us in this role where you'll work across large‑scale offshore and onshore infrastructure projects, contributing to the design, testing, and verification of metering systems. Whether you're early in your engineering career and ready to develop, or you bring extensive experience and can take full ownership from day one, this role is shaped to match the value you can bring.
You'll be part of the SCS & Metering team where you, together with your colleagues, will collaborate across SCADA, substations, electrical engineering, suppliers, and multi‑disciplinary project teams, and Generation as a key operational stakeholder. Our team is highly international, spanning Denmark, Poland, the UK, the US, and several other locations, and we work across both offshore and onshore assets.
As a team, we succeed as one, share knowledge generously, and support each other in a complex project environment.
You'll play an important role in
- contributing to or owning the design, implementation, and verification of metering systems for large‑scale renewable energy projects
- designing and validating metering solutions related to revenue metering and measurements of active and reactive power, ensuring accurate data for financial settlement, performance analysis, and verification of grid compliance
- preparing and reviewing engineering documentation such as signal lists, cable schedules, and as‑built documentation
- supporting or leading FAT, SAT, SIT, and commissioning activities, incl. witnessing tests and ensuring supplier compliance with technical requirements
- collaborating closely with SCS (Substation Control Systems) engineers to secure correct integration of metering values into SCADA/SCS environments
- managing diverse internal and external stakeholders to align on scope, requirements, risks, and technical decisions
- contributing to lessons learned, standards development, and continuous improvement of our metering methodology and design basis.
- supporting Generation as a critical interface, ensuring operational transparency, data quality, and alignment between project delivery and asset performance needs.
To succeed in the role, you
- have an electrical engineering background or similar technical foundation relevant to metering, SCADA, or power systems
- have solid knowledge of electrical calculations related to metering systems, including power calculations (active/reactive), current transformer (CT) and voltage transformer (VT) sizing, and accuracy classes
- bring experience from power generation, industrial energy systems, SCADA, substations, or similar
- demonstrate strong stakeholder management and the ability to navigate complex project organisations where metering is small in scope but high in importance
- work in a structured and accountable way, ensuring alignment across multiple suppliers, packages, and disciplines
- show resilience and sound judgement when facing pushback or complex decisions, balancing quality, scope, and contractual requirements
- communicate clearly, collaborate naturally across cultures, and enjoy working in an international environment.
Maybe you've read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don't quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
You can expect 25-50% travel, depending on the project phase, including FAT/SAT/SIT witnessing at supplier sites across the EU, APAC and occasional travel to the US, and visits to project locations where our assets are located.
