Job Description
As our Senior Business Development Manager Western Europe, you drive the international expansion of our renewable energy portfolio beyond core markets. You lead market entry and growth in countries such as France, the UK, and the Republic of Ireland by developing robust route-to-market strategies and building high-impact co-development partnerships and joint ventures. With a strong focus on delivering utility-scale Solar PV, Wind, and BESS portfolios of at least 500 MW per market, you combine strategic vision with hands-on execution. Acting as a senior representative in the region, you shape partnerships, acquisitions, and investment decisions while ensuring strong governance and sustainable long-term value creation.
Your sunny outlook
- Strategic Market Expansion: You define and execute market entry and growth strategies for utility-scale Solar PV, Wind, and BESS projects, translating ambitious growth targets into bankable development pipelines across selected West European markets;
- Route-to-Market & Portfolio Delivery: You design and implement country-specific route-to-market strategies and ensure the successful delivery of large-scale portfolios with a clear focus on achieving at least 500 MW COD per target market;
- Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: You conduct in-depth market, regulatory, and competitive analyses to identify attractive development, partnership, and acquisition opportunities while proactively managing market-related risks;
- Co-Development & Joint Venture Management: You initiate, structure, and negotiate co-development partnerships and joint ventures, acting as the primary interface to partners and ensuring effective governance and value creation;
- Portfolio Acquisition & Investment Decisions: You lead portfolio acquisition processes end-to-end, from due diligence and transaction structuring to preparing robust investment cases and presenting them to internal decision-makers;
- Stakeholder Representation & Governance: You represent the company's interests in target countries, manage key external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with internal governance standards and local regulatory requirements.
We'll get wind of that soon
- Education & Professional Background: You hold a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field and bring a strong academic foundation to complex commercial and investment decisions;
- Extensive Renewable Energy Experience: You have 10-15 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on utility-scale Solar PV and/or Wind; experience in BESS is a plus;
- Proven Portfolio Delivery Track Record: You demonstrate a proven ability to deliver large-scale renewable portfolios and to successfully manage partnerships or joint ventures across multiple European markets;
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: You bring strong leadership skills and experience in aligning diverse internal and external stakeholders around shared strategic and commercial objectives;
- Languages & International Mindset: You are fluent in business English and German and are comfortable working in international, cross-cultural environments; additional languages are an advantage;
- Mobility & Flexibility: You are willing to travel regularly across West European markets to support portfolio growth, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.
