Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in accelerating renewable energy adoption across the manufacturing supply chain in Korea.
The role focuses on originating and developing rooftop solar projects for supplier companies of global automotive manufacturers, working in close collaboration with strategic partners.
The objective is to support global automotive OEM's supply-chain decarbonisation, RE100, and carbon-neutrality commitments by enabling suppliers to transition to renewable energy. The Sales Manager will lead customer origination, commercial engagement, and early-stage project development for self-consumption and PPA-based rooftop solar projects, progressing opportunities from initial engagement through to construction readiness.
This is a hybrid role combining:
- Industrial B2B Sales & Business Development
- Solar Project Development
- Strategic Partnership Management
Key Responsibilities
(1) Project Origination & Supply Chain Engagement
- Identify rooftop solar opportunities among suppliers within the automotive and advanced manufacturing supply chain
- Work closely with partner networks, including sustainability and carbon neutrality teams of global automotive manufacturers, to build and qualify a robust project pipeline
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing customers across automotive components, batteries, materials, and industrial parks
- Position rooftop solar and related energy transition solutions as enablers of customer competitiveness, compliance, and decarbonisation commitments
- Target Customer Segments Automotive parts and component manufacturers, including Battery, EV, and advanced materials supply chain companies steel, chemical, electronics, and industrial manufacturing companies
(2) Customer Engagement & Deal Structuring
- Lead customer discussions to define the optimal commercial structure, including Self-consumption onsite rooftop/ carport solar
- Prepare customer proposals, indicative financial models, and commercial presentations
- Negotiate key commercial terms such as rooftop lease conditions, electricity pricing, contract duration, and project timelines
- Coordinate internally to ensure commercial structures align with investment and risk requirements
(3) Project Development & Execution
- Manage project development activities from origination through to construction-ready status
- Oversee preliminary feasibility assessments, including Rooftop structural suitability, Grid interconnection and capacity considerations, Permitting and regulatory requirements, Coordinate with EPC contractors, engineers, and technical advisors on system design, cost estimation, and delivery schedules
- Support internal investment committees and approval processes with commercial and project inputs
(4) JV & Strategic Partnership Management
- Drive joint business development activities with strategic partners
- Ensure projects are aligned with the global automotive OEMs' broader RE100, ESG, and carbon-neutrality strategies across the supply chain
- Manage shared project pipeline tracking, reporting, and governance with relevant stakeholders
- Support discussions on portfolio scaling, financing structures, and long-term partnership expansion
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial B2B sales, or project development
- Solid understanding of solar project development and/or corporate PPA structures
- Proven track record in commercial negotiations with industrial or manufacturing customers
- Strong ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, including EPC contractors, financial partners, and corporate clients
- Professional fluency in both Korean and English
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience developing rooftop solar or distributed energy projects
- Familiarity with the automotive manufacturing supply chain
