About the role

The Credit & Affordability team is seeking a Commercial Strategy & Insights Manager to join the Melbourne-based team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Credit, this role is responsible for delivering commercial insights, financial performance management, and end‑to‑end collections reporting across operational spend and outcomes. The role also oversees the delivery and optimisation of technical platforms and assets, ensuring continuity and alignment across processes, practices, and technology teams.

The role supports delivery of AGL's strategic objectives through effective governance and performance management of credit and collections partners, alongside robust insights and reporting to manage Credit & Affordability OPEX and NBDE targets (P&L).

Leveraging data and analytics, this role analyses collections journeys and bad-debt drivers to develop and implement evidence‑based resolution strategies. This includes optimising collection methodologies, control sizes, treatment durations, and customer segmentation to drive best‑in‑class performance, maximise debt coverage, minimise debtor volumes, and uphold compliance and adherence standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver financial forecasts and budgeting against OPEX for Credit and Affordability (C&A) as well as Governance of monthly reporting and reconciliations ensuring budget is well maintained and not exceeded.
  • A proven ability to manage commercial debt collection outcomes while enhancing customer experience
  • Deliver management reporting to track and measure the effectiveness of each program of work in line with financial targets. Perform regular performance and audit reviews, holding partners accountable to develop action plans and strategies to improve results and add value to the AGL business.
  • Set partnership and insights strategies that support the overall Credit and Affordability goals and targets
  • Partner with Data Platform and Data Engineering teams to embed governance principles into data platforms and workflows.
  • Develop management strategies to transition analytical data assets into enterprise-wide solutions for broader adoption.
  • Leverage AI to drive deeper insights and improve team performance.
