Your Missions

The International HR Manager is a key business partner to country managers and functional leaders, responsible for building local HR capabilities while ensuring alignment with Voltalia's global culture and strategy.

The main responsibilities include:

HR Business Partnership

  • Support Country Managers and act as the principal HR interlocutor for managers and employees in Portugal and assigned international locations;
  • Translate business strategies into local HR initiatives, actively supporting change management and organizational growth;
  • Analyse HR data and metrics to diagnose issues and drive appropriate solutions.

Talent Management & Development

  • Oversee the complete recruitment cycle, ensuring a strong candidate experience and budget compliance;
  • Manage and implement the training and development plan for the region, sourcing vendors and coordinating sessions to upskill employees;
  • Facilitate performance appraisal cycles and follow up on probationary periods via the existing HRIS;
  • Build/Strengthen local leadership;
  • Drive performance culture;
  • Support internal mobility.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Adapt and implement Voltalia Group HR policies, procedures, and internal rules to fit local legal needs and cultural contexts;
  • Oversee the preparation of all regulatory and legal documents (employment contracts, social security contributions) and manage the relationship with external payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll;
  • Ensure strict compliance with local labour laws, employment regulations, and social legislation across all countries of responsibility;
  • Manage potential legal issues and disputes in collaboration with legal teams.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee queries, managing complex employee relations topics;
  • Drive employee engagement and wellness initiatives, organizing activities that promote well-being and a positive company culture;
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyse turnover data to inform retention strategies.

Global Projects & Remuneration

  • Participate in Group transversal HR projects, such as HRIS implementation or benefits harmonization;
  • Collaborate in salary reviews to ensure internal fairness and consistency in compensation and benefits across the region.

Qualifications & Experiences

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, or related field;
  • Minimum 15 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior generalist or business partner role within an international matrix organization;
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is a distinct advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Portuguese Labor Law;
  • Working knowledge of employment laws in other European or African countries (where Voltalia operates) is highly desirable;
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment, talent development, and performance management;
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (such as Talentsoft, Workday or Successfactors) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Experience managing payroll processes with external providers.

Languages

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is mandatory;
  • Knowledge of French is a plus.
