We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer with a main responsibility in Catalyst, Auxillary and Fuel Gas Supply System. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but also Helsinki and Turku, Finland are option. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Supplier Development Engineer your work will include:

  • Actively support new product introduction and lead proactive quality assurance activities for supplier deliveries
  • Analyse supplier performance and capabilities, identify development opportunities and drive impactful development actions
  • Develop and execute supplier development action plans to improve supplier performance
  • Support suppliers with their operational development initiatives in relation to cost, quality and delivery
  • Execute supplier audits and audit follow-up according to supplier development action plan and verify impact

You'll be working as a part of impact-driven Supplier Development team and supporting Catalyst, Auxillary and Fuel Gas Supply Systems teams with diverse expertise.

Requirements for the position

  • Hands-on experience in welding processes combined with solid knowledge of quality management practices
  • Hands-on experience in assembly processes in industrial environment
  • Strong personal drive for identifying development potential and proactively lead development initiatives across suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Result-oriented mindset with a proven ability to turn analysis into measurable impact on quality, delivery and cost
  • Structured and analytical way of working, with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to lead initiatives and communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams
  • Ability to apply lean principles and statistical process control in daily work for driving sustainable process improvement

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering (preferred) or Economics/Business Administration, or equivalent qualification
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, supplier development, or quality engineering within an industrial environment
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel as required for supplier development activities
  • Previous auditing experience or lead auditor qualification (e.g. ISO 9001) is considered an advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is considered an advantage
