Biomethane Broker (m/w/d)

Cleanworld is a leading broker in the fast-growing markets for environmental commodities. We are an international team of experienced brokers that serve energy companies and trading houses globally from our offices in Oslo, Sandefjord, Hamburg and Madrid. The company cooperates closely with its largest shareholder, Arctic Securities, one of Norway's leading investment banks.

The European biomethane market is expanding rapidly, driven by REPowerEU and the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), with Spain emerging as a key production hub. To support our Madrid desk, we are looking for a motivated broker with ideally two years of relevant experience to join our team. You will work in an international environment on exciting transactions. To succeed as a broker, you need ambition, commercial drive and a strong client-oriented mindset.

The position

• Broker OTC transactions in biomethane (physical, certificates, cross-border flow, spot and long-term) with new and existing clients across Spain and international markets working closely with Cleanworld's established biomethane desk already present across Europe.
• Develop and grow a portfolio of producers, utilities, transport fuel suppliers and industrial off-takers.
• Identify new leads and proactively reach out to convert them into recurring business.
• Provide clients with timely pricing, market intelligence and regulatory updates (RED III, ISCC, REDcert, MITECO).
• International travel for business purposes is to be expected. The position will be based in Madrid.

Your profile

• Native Spanish and fluent English, written and verbal. Additional languages are a strong advantage.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Energy or a related field.
• Approximately two years of experience in brokering, trading, sales, origination or business development. Experience in biomethane, biogas, natural gas or biofuels is a strong advantage.
• Strong commercial drive, diligent and client-oriented.
• Hard-working and highly motivated to succeed in a competitive environment.
• Not afraid to approach and cold call clients.
• Strong knowledge of, or affinity with, commodities and gas markets.
