Approximately 50-100 employees (source: linkedin.com). Revenue of $1 million to $5 million in 2023 (source: linkedin.com).

What They Do

Reunion operates as a digital marketplace for clean energy tax credits, primarily facilitating the purchase and sale of tax credits generated by renewable energy projects (source: linkedin.com). The company focuses on tax credit transferability, a mechanism enabled by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act that allows entities to transfer unused tax credits to other parties (source: linkedin.com). Their platform serves various renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage, and geothermal energy, supporting over eight project technologies (source: linkedin.com). Reunion's core offering includes identifying tax credit opportunities, providing market data, conducting due diligence, negotiating contracts, and offering compliance software, emphasizing a hands-on approach to transactions (source: linkedin.com). Recent innovations include producing diligence memos within one week of signing a term sheet to expedite buyer decision-making (source: linkedin.com).

Projects & Track Record

Reunion has led over $7 billion in tax credit transfers since 2024, facilitating over $3.5 billion specifically in 2024 alone (source: linkedin.com). The company played a key role in three of the largest tax credit transfers of 2024, including the sale of up to $870 million in 45X credits from First Solar to Visa (source: linkedin.com). Reunion has also been involved in some of the industry's most complex transactions, including multiple deals exceeding $1 billion in volume (source: linkedin.com). While specific client relationships are not fully disclosed, the company has highlighted its work with Fortune 1000 corporations and leading clean energy developers, showcasing its significant impact in the renewable energy finance sector (source: linkedin.com).

Recent Developments

2024 was characterized as a "breakout year" for Reunion, with the company facilitating over $3.5 billion in tax credit transfers with a small but dedicated team (source: linkedin.com). The company announced plans to double its headcount in 2025, driven by growth in its core tax credit transfer business (source: linkedin.com). Additionally, Reunion is developing new software products aimed at improving the tax credit transfer process, with plans to launch these innovations in early 2025 (source: linkedin.com). Despite policy uncertainties, a survey conducted by Reunion found that most clients had not altered their tax credit purchase plans for 2025, indicating strong market confidence (source: linkedin.com).

Working There

Reunion describes itself as a team of "technology and clean energy finance experts" (source: linkedin.com). The company likely has roles spanning software engineering, transaction management, sales, compliance, and customer success, with plans to actively hire across multiple functions as it doubles its headcount in 2025 (source: linkedin.com). The founders emphasize a collaborative culture rooted in mutual respect and a shared commitment to tackling challenges in the clean energy sector (source: linkedin.com). While specific benefits and compensation details are not documented, the company’s growth trajectory suggests a dynamic work environment focused on execution and impact (source: linkedin.com).

Job Description

Reunion is transforming the way clean energy projects are financed. Since 2024, our tax credit transfer business has partnered with major corporations to unlock over $8 billion in clean energy investment, including some of the industry's largest transactions. Our Clean Energy Solutions business is building disruptive software for developers to track operations and ensure regulatory compliance.

Reunion has built a consistently profitable company, focused on building for the long term. We raised a small seed round of funding in 2023, and have since repaid our investors in full. We do not have pressure from VCs or outside investors to chase short-term targets; we have the autonomy to focus on building a great long-term business. Reunion's laser focus on solving tough problems has resulted in repeat customers and strong profitability since 2024.

We have worked hard to build a mission-driven company culture that values creativity, collaboration, excellence, and speed without sacrificing fun. Our talented team includes experienced leaders from SunEdison, SolarCity, Tesla, GoodLeap, and other clean energy companies; we are consistently amazed by what our 30+ person team of experts can accomplish.

We look for curious, smart, and kind colleagues with an entrepreneurial streak (we have quite a few ex-entrepreneurs on our team). Reunion is a great place to learn from energy finance experts and play a critical role in deploying clean energy technologies such as battery storage, nuclear, manufacturing, solar, and wind.

About the role

Reunion is entering its next phase of growth, and we're hiring a Head of Marketing to level up the function. You'll own marketing end-to-end across multiple audiences (corporate buyers, clean energy developers who sell credits) and products (tax credit transfers, PWA and FEOC compliance software), work directly with the founders, and report to the CEO.

  • Our growth runs through corporate tax credit buyers; converting them and owning this number will be your top priority.
  • Credibility, via research and thought leadership, is what makes sophisticated parties (including buyers) trust us; you will turn highly technical subject matter (transferable tax credit mechanisms, PWA & FEOC regulations, due diligence arcana, and more) into thought leadership that experts respect.

This is a player-coach role. You'll set strategy and personally produce the highest-leverage work, but you won't do it all yourself. The team will include a Marketing Manager who owns day-to-day execution, in-house design and web support, outside agencies to handle production, and multiple team members contributing content and backstopping events. We expect you to grow and develop the team as we scale. You won't need to know it all on day one, but a successful person in this role will grow into a real expert and be energized by it.

What you'll do

  • Own demand-gen, especially for buyers. Carry the number for tax credit buyer demand and pipeline. Build a repeatable, measurable machine that moves corporate tax teams from "don't know us" to "ready to talk", in partnership with our stellar Business Development team. Know the funnel, understand its leverage points, and bulletproof it.
  • Lead content and thought leadership. Own Reunion's point of view and editorial bar. Set the editorial direction and priority for research, regulatory analysis, case studies, and market digests that are the core of how we earn attention. Build the machine that turns expertise from SMEs across the company into a steady, repeatable stream of thought leadership. Personally write the highest-leverage pieces. Set the bar high and get the substance and prose right.
  • Build Reunion's public profile. Distribute our stellar content to gain attention in a crowded market. Run earned media and PR, turning our data and milestones into coverage in marquee financial press. Win bigger stages at industry conferences and panels. Convert Reunion's deep web of relationships, including law firms, advisors, customers, and partners into marketing successes.
  • Set strategy across audiences and products. Build distinct motions for buyers (acquisition), sellers and developers (relationship and retention), and compliance software users (product marketing), and decide where to focus as the company scales. Bring a clear, prioritized plan rather than three of everything.
  • Steward the brand and lead the team. Take ownership of our just-revamped brand and website, keep them consistent and sharp, and evolve them as we grow. Lead, hire for, and develop a lean marketing team.

What you'll need

Must-have:

  • Senior B2B marketing leadership in a technical, regulated, or finance-adjacent space, with a large demand / pipeline number you've personally owned and scaled.
  • Command over complex subject matter: You are excited to sit with a tax lawyer and ferret out the right business implications that can turn into content. Strong, clear writing is table stakes; judgment about what is correct and what matters is the differentiator.
  • A player-coach mentality: You set strategy and prioritize ruthlessly for a lean team, but still do critical work yourself.
  • AI expertise: You use AI to multiply your impact without compromising human judgment.
  • Self-sufficiency with analytics: you pull and interpret your own funnel, web, and campaign data.

Strongly recommended:

  • Thought leadership across multiple audiences and/or products, tailoring the approach while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Background in clean energy, tax, climate, structured finance, or energy-finance media.

You are curious, kind, fast-moving, and you sweat the details. You give and take feedback well, and you take ownership without being asked.

NOTE: Reunion is an equal opportunity employer. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't line up exactly with the job description.

Why join us?

  • Grow a profitable company with a vision for long-term, sustainable growth.
  • Engage in the nascent tax transfer market, the newest and most dynamic component of clean energy financing.
  • Scale disruptive software transforming manual developer operations into streamlined and repeatable processes.
  • Own marketing at a profitable, fast-growing company at an inflection point, working directly with the founders.
  • Cash and equity compensation commensurate with experience, plus benefits including 401k matching, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Travel to company offsites 2-3x per year to meet teammates in person.
  • Flexible PTO plan.

Location

  • We are a remote-first company, but for this role we prefer a candidate located in San Francisco, CA, or Seattle, WA where we have density and offices.
