As part of the Technical Advisory team, the candidate will be part of the engineering team with the ability to provide services worldwide. The position will be based in Madrid (Spain), with occasional travel to projects and/or factories.

The main activity will consist of performing detailed electrical engineering reviews for projects under construction, feasibility studies, and technical assessments of renewable energy projects worldwide, including solar photovoltaic plants, battery energy storage systems (BESS), wind farms, and hybrid renewable energy projects.

The candidate will also be involved in the management of tendering processes, preparation of technical specifications, technical and commercial evaluation of bids, and the selection of contractors and suppliers.

In addition, the role will include providing technical advisory services throughout the different phases of project development, construction and operation, as well as technical support related to various contractual frameworks, including EPC, BoP, supply, O&M and other project-related agreements.

In addition, you will occasionally carry out engineering designs and support the team of consultants during electrical TDD services. Ongoing support will also be provided to the site team.

Key Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the renewable energy sector, including photovoltaic, BESS, wind and hybrid projects.
  • Knowledge of the environment of permitting, applicable laws and standards of the PV projects.
  • Knowledge of electrical balance of PV projects.
  • Knowledge of Grid Code, Grid connection procedures.
  • Experience leading technical reviews, engineering assessments and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in tendering processes, technical specifications, contractor management and evaluation of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC, BoP, equipment supply and O&M contracts from a technical and risk management perspective.
  • Experience in high-voltage systems, substations, transmission lines, collector systems and grid interconnection.
  • Ability to interface with clients, lenders, OEMs, contractors and other stakeholders in international projects.
  • English fluent.

ICT Skills

  • General good ICT knowledge;
  • Autocad;
  • ETAP/Digsilent;
  • PVsyst;
  • Knowledge of power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, harmonic and dynamic studies.
  • Good knowledge of Office package (especially Excel and Access);
