Mumbai, India

Founded

2015

Approximately 2,700–3,000 employees globally (source: tracxn.com). Operating revenue of ₹355 crore in FY2025 with an annualized run rate of about ₹800–₹1,000 crore as of September 2026 (source: indiatimes.com).

What They Do

SolarSquare Energy specializes in full-stack rooftop solar solutions, focusing primarily on residential distributed solar systems rather than broad renewable energy sectors (source: tracxn.com). The company designs, installs, finances, and maintains solar systems for homes, housing societies, and businesses, managing the entire customer journey from consultation and site assessment through design, permits, installation, and ongoing maintenance (source: solarsquare.in). SolarSquare operates a "no middlemen" model, offering direct execution with a savings guarantee and money-back promise on its home solar offerings, which differentiates it in the Indian market (source: solarsquare.in). Initially focused on B2B rooftop solar, the company pivoted in 2021 to emphasize residential customers, which now account for about 70% of its business, serving nearly 50,000 homes across 29 cities in nine states (source: b.capital). Its dense urban markets include Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi NCR, where demand for rooftop solar is particularly strong (source: inc42.com).

Projects & Track Record

SolarSquare’s project portfolio is characterized by widespread deployment of rooftop solar systems rather than individual large-scale plants. The company powers nearly 50,000 homes across 29 cities in nine states, reflecting a broad geographic footprint and strong penetration in the residential rooftop solar market (source: b.capital). Its customer base spans more than 15 cities including Bengaluru, Pune, Indore, and Lucknow, emphasizing urban and semi-urban residential and housing society installations (source: inc42.com). The company’s focus remains on distributed rooftop solar rather than utility-scale projects, highlighting its role as a full-stack service provider managing design, installation, financing, and maintenance for individual and community rooftops (source: solarsquare.in).

Recent Developments

In June 2026, SolarSquare successfully closed a $53 million Series C funding round led by B Capital, with participation from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Lowercarbon Capital, Rainmatter by Zerodha, and Good Capital, underscoring strong investor confidence in its growth trajectory (source: vccircle.com). This funding round was aimed at supporting geographic expansion, deeper technology investments, hiring, and scaling its platform capabilities (source: vccircle.com). The Economic Times reported the round valued the company at approximately $450–$500 million, with FY2025 operating revenue reaching ₹355 crore, reflecting rapid financial growth (source: indiatimes.com). Tracxn also notes total funding of $114 million across five rounds as of mid-2026, highlighting sustained capital inflows fueling expansion (source: tracxn.com).

Working There

SolarSquare offers a diverse range of roles across sales, customer consultation, engineering and design, installation operations, project management, financing support, maintenance, technology, and growth functions, reflecting its full-stack rooftop solar business model (source: solarsquare.in). The company’s offices and showrooms in Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, and Hyderabad indicate hiring opportunities in both headquarters and field operations across multiple urban centers (source: solarsquare.in). LinkedIn identifies SolarSquare as a privately held company with approximately 1,000 to 5,000 employees, providing insight into its organizational scale and complexity (source: linkedin.com). The company culture emphasizes a direct-to-customer service approach with "zero middlemen," end-to-end ownership of the customer journey, and a free consultation process, suggesting a dynamic, execution-focused, and customer-facing work environment (source: solarsquare.in).
