Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 545,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. We are the world's first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.

Torus has raised over $267 million from investors like Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ and Origin Ventures. The investments are helping to accelerate deployment of modular power plants across utilities, data centers, and industrial sectors. This investor confidence reflects the strength of our team, technology as well as the scale of the problem we are solving.

At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports and strengthens our electrical grid, critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.

As the In-House Lead Industrial Electrician at Torus, you will own the electrical infrastructure, maintenance, power distribution, and heavy machinery support inside our 545,000-square-foot GigaOne facility in Salt Lake City. You will be responsible for ensuring our facility operates at peak electrical reliability. You will lead power drops, equipment tie-ins, and electrical installations for new manufacturing and fabrication machinery brought into the plant, while maintaining facility-wide switchgear, panels, and sub-systems.

Who You Are

Facility & Industrial Expert: You have deep, practical experience working in commercial, manufacturing, or heavy industrial facility settings and know how to safely navigate complex power systems, transformers, and switchgear.

Machinery & Equipment Specialist: You thrive on setting up, wiring, and troubleshooting heavy fabrication machinery, CNCs, automated equipment, PLCs, and high-voltage power lines.

Safety & Detail-Oriented: You enforce strict safety protocols, double-check every connection, and ensure all building and equipment work is 100% NEC compliant.

Accountable: You bring a "my name is on it" mentality, take complete ownership of the plant's electrical uptime, and communicate clearly with facility managers, shop leads, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Facility Infrastructure & Maintenance: Own and oversee all electrical maintenance and reliability across the 545,000-square-foot GigaOne building, including transformers, switchgear, main breakers, and distribution panels.
  • Fabrication & Equipment Installations: Plan layout, run conduit, pull wire, and terminate electrical connections for newly arrived fabrication machines, automated lines, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduit & Wiring Execution: Plan, lay out, bend, thread, and run conduit (EMT, Rigid, PVC) and pull wire/cables per engineered drawings, building plans, and NEC code.
  • Blueprint & Schematics Reading: Read and interpret complex electrical riser diagrams, engineered single-lines, machine schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute regular PM schedules on industrial panels, thermal imaging inspections, motor checks, and facility lighting/power controls.
  • Safety & Code Compliance: Enforce OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, local Salt Lake City/Utah electrical codes (NEC), and Torus safety guidelines.
  • Inventory & Vendor Coordination: Maintain inventory for electrical maintenance spare parts, tools, and consumables; work with external electrical contractors or equipment OEMs during major facility upgrades.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Communication & Software: Excellent verbal/written communication and comfort using modern facility management or ticketing software.
  • Safety & Equipment: Strong understanding of industrial safety standards (LOTO, NFPA 70E) and experience operating specialized lift equipment (scissor lifts, boom lifts).

Preferred Experience

  • High-Voltage & Power Distribution: Direct experience working with 480V 3-phase power, switchgear assemblies, transformers, and heavy plant infrastructure.
  • Controls & Automation: Direct exposure to PLC troubleshooting, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and industrial automation lines.
  • Conduit Proficiency: Advanced proficiency bending large-diameter EMT and Rigid conduit.
