Composites Testing Laboratory (CTL) is a leader in the field of accredited mechanical testing of composite materials. CTL provides testing for blue chip international clients in the aerospace, renewable energy, industrial and medical device industries. CTL is a subsidiary of ÉireComposites, an innovative design and manufacturing company, involved in lightweight, high-performance fiber-reinforced composite materials.

Specialties: Static testing, fatigue testing, environmental testing, physical thermal and microsection testing, specimen preparation and panel manufacturing.

CTL is looking to recruit a Test Project Engineer to join its business. This role will be based in Inverin, Co. Galway. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or an early career project engineer who wants to gain experience in testing composite materials and work in a progressive test laboratory environment.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for:

  • Point of contact for selected customers.
  • Project management of selected test programs.
  • Testing as per criteria and following standards for clients primarily in aerospace and renewable energy sector.
  • Drafting specimen drawings.
  • Design of test equipment.
  • Development of test methods and operating procedures.
  • Preparing test schedules.
  • Evaluation & Analysis of test results.
  • Generating test/technical reports.
  • Participation in Accreditation and Customer Audits.
  • Working with quality and sales teams.
  • Monitoring lab performance (external and internal proficiency testing).

Minimum Requirements

  • Level 8 Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or similar).
  • PC proficiency in AutoCAD (or Similar), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience in mechanical testing would be advantageous however not essential.

The prospective candidate must be able to demonstrate a professional approach, be self-motivated, be a good team-worker and communicator, and will be enthusiastic and willing to update their skill set in the company's core business areas.
