Job Description

About the role

As the Pipeline Manager (m/f/d), you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth management of our renewable energy pipeline. You will be responsible for leading the investment process, asset ranking, and guiding investment decisions while managing the plan of projects that enter the portfolio. You will work closely with senior leadership, regional teams, and other departments to align portfolio growth with strategic goals and the business plan. Your focus will be on optimizing the portfolio, supporting the translation of the portfolio into a strong business plan, alongside special projects from senior management.

What you will do

  • You will build, own, and operate the investment process, including clear guidelines and strong governance.
  • You will prepare investment meetings by setting the current portfolio into perspective with potential investments.
  • You will collaborate with senior leadership and regional teams to plan and execute investment strategies in line with market conditions and business objectives.
  • You will activate functional leadership (Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, etc.) to understand and de-risk projects.
  • You will lead scenario analyses and strategic assessments for our project pipeline, providing insights on cash flow implications and value creation.
  • You will own and operate the pipeline and portfolio input for EMEA/APAC towards the Corporate Business Plan.
  • You will present and discuss the pipeline value and actions to improve it regularly at top management level.
  • You will interface with the Pipeline Strategy responsible to guide strategy process and implementation within the capital allocation framework.
  • You will continuously improve the investment processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
  • You will develop and refine tools and systems that facilitate faster and more effective portfolio management.
  • You will work closely with country portfolio managers (where existing) to ensure the pipeline is consistently aligned with market conditions and regulatory environments in each region.
  • You will provide data and insights to support regional strategies and decision-making.
  • You will support senior management with pipeline initiatives and ad-hoc analyses.
  • You will regularly review and evaluate portfolio performance, identifying underperforming assets and proposing solutions for improvement, reinvestment, or exit.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • A degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, MSc) or professional certifications (CFA, CPA) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 6–10 years of experience in commercial roles within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing complex processes with multiple stakeholders and the ability to align them.
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in investment analysis, financial modeling, and portfolio performance tracking.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, operations, and regional teams.
  • Ability and interest to identify patterns and make data speak.
  • Deep understanding of renewable energy markets, industry trends, and regulatory environments, particularly in Europe and Asia.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management tools, financial software, and investment tracking systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data and investment proposals to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different teams and regions.
