We are seeking a Business Development Director for a client operating in the industrial heat technology sector, with a strong focus on the DACH market. The company's solution stack includes high-temperature heat pumps, electrification, and waste heat recovery for industrial process applications, with active customers in the Mittelstand and a growing reference base.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As Business Development Director, you will lead commercial activity in the German market. You'll build and manage a pipeline of industrial customers, originate and close deals across the full sales cycle, and act as the company's senior commercial face in DACH. Comfortable owning the full cycle, including the difficult conversations on capex.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Origination

  • Build and manage a pipeline of industrial customers across chemicals, food and beverage, automotive, and pulp and paper
  • Develop relationships across Mittelstand and major industrial groups
  • Identify, qualify, and progress opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Originate, structure, close

Commercial Execution

  • Lead technical sales conversations with engineering, operations, and procurement teams
  • Structure commercial proposals appropriate for capex-grade decisions
  • Coordinate with internal engineering and project teams on bid responses
  • Lead contract negotiation through to signature

Strategic Support

  • Represent the company at German industrial forums and trade events
  • Contribute to market intelligence on competitor activity and pricing
  • Support marketing on lead generation and account-based strategies
  • Feed customer requirements back into the product roadmap

PROFILE

  • Native German speaker with an established industrial network
  • Experience selling capital equipment, energy services, or process technology to industrial end-users
