Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Global IT/OT Operations and Support Services, you will lead a team of OT and SCADA engineers across Europe, driving excellence in operational technology. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the control, reliability, and optimal performance of critical OT systems and infrastructure, while providing expert guidance and support to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) department. As the Regional OT Lead, you will oversee technical processes, champion best practices, and enable seamless operations that power our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and expert consultancy in SCADA and Operational Technology (OT) across Operations & Maintenance, Engineering, Joint Ventures, M&A activities, and greenfield developments.
  • Lead and manage the OT and SCADA Support Team in Europe, ensuring effective resource allocation, project delivery, and operational excellence-even in high-risk, remote, or offshore environments.
  • Delegate tasks, monitor team performance, and enforce compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Drive team professional growth through targeted training programs, competency assessments, and continuous development initiatives.
  • Act as the primary liaison between OT, IT, marine coordination, operational teams, OEMs, and grid operators to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Communicate system status, risks, and improvement opportunities clearly and effectively to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with offshore energy legislation, environmental requirements, and grid codes across all operations.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of OT hardware, systems, and networks for N1 and DBU assets, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Conduct daily system health assessments, troubleshoot outages, and document resolutions in line with OLA standards.
  • Manage the OT software and technology portfolio, aligning current capabilities with future project needs.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and documentation to support audits and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate globally on R&D initiatives to advance OT design and construction standards.
  • Enforce IT/OT security policies and ISMS protocols, ensuring compliance with global and local standards.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for OT issues at site level, coordinating closely with global teams.
  • Provide hands-on support for offshore operations ensuring adherence to offshore facility standards and best practices.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with preference Systems Engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Utility industry
  • Experience with offshore wind turbine technology (Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, GE, etc.).
  • Familiarity with substation systems, protection relays, or HV equipment.
  • Knowledge of OT cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Operational experience in the Protection & Control and SCADA discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of control systems and integrations.
  • Strong working knowledge of CIP compliance requirements and their impact on IT, OT, SCADA and P&C systems.
  • Experience with network layouts, servers, switches, firewalls configurations and hardware/software specifications
  • Strong experience in requirement gathering techniques
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
  • Ability to travel to site including offshore and participate in the on-call Rota
  • Willingness to undertake GWO training
