Job Description

As a Team Lead Engineering (m/f/d) - EMEA Region, you will oversee the engineering activities for Wind projects, Solar and BESS projects across the EMEA region.

BayWa r.e. Projects develops, invests in, and manages effective and sustainable wind and solar energy projects. As part of our dynamic growth, we are expanding our Engineering & Construction team and seeking a Team Lead Engineering (m/f/d) for the Wind/PV/BESS market within the EMEA region. This role is open to senior candidates, who would ideally work from Munich.

Responsible for project engineering activities for large-scale Wind, PV, and BESS power plants.

What You Will Do

  • You will provide functional and/or organizational management of the assigned engineers and/or engineering leads
  • You will organize regional engineering support on projects and expert task
  • You will define priorities on technical tasks and projects
  • You will be directly involved in critical technical tasks and projects
  • You will ensure smooth communication between engineers and interfaces such as PDs, PMs, TPLs, Procurement, and Construction
  • You will ensure that processes and standards are followed
  • You will follow up on lessons learned with the project teams
  • You will contribute to new developments, optimizations, and standards with the expertise and knowledge of the team
  • You will perform design verification and optimization
  • You will oversee cost calculations
  • You will maintain a high focus on CAPEX optimization and cost savings through engineering

What you'll need to succeed

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical) or similar
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering management and/or technical management in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on Wind technology
  • Engineering experience in BESS and Solar are advantages
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills across multicultural and cross-functional teams
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of international and local norms and standards
  • Hands on mentality
  • Experience in risk management
  • Willingness to travel across EMEA region
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Fluent in English; additional regional languages are a plus
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive alignment across diverse teams and geographies
