Responsibilities

The Econergy Group is a global independent power producer, developing, constructing and operating a high volume of renewable energy projects across Europe. The group is listed on the Tel-Aviv stock exchange, and has operations across the UK, Romania, Italy and Poland.

The Group Treasury Manager is a new position created to advance the treasury process at Econergy. The role will be responsible for all treasury matters of the group, which involves operations across 10 countries with multiple currencies, multiple local banks and several different loan providers at both the corporate and project level (project finance).

We are looking for someone who is willing and able to lay the foundations for a successful treasury function, and who is willing to get hands on to get this in place. Prior experience of setting up treasury functions is highly desirable, as well as exposure to project finance loans, and developing successful hedging strategies to mitigate fx and interest rate risk.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establish group wide payment process. Establish consistency across all Countries. Define and build out the required signatories and bank approvers. Automate weekly payment runs and strengthen global controls around payments.
  • Liquidity and cash management. Strengthen group wide cash visibility, establish standard cash-call process across the group and related reporting. Establish the optimal number of bank accounts and pooling processes. Develop strategy to optimise idle cash and avoid trapped cash in the structure.
  • Foreign exchange risk management. Ensure strongest spot rates are being achieved in each country. Identify fx exposures and develop hedging strategy to mitigate them.
  • Funding and capital structure. Manage / strengthen relationships with local and group banks, managing fees and credit lines available. Secure bond / guarantee facilities needed to free up cash collateral, monitor and ensure compliance with project finance loans i.e. covenants and financial reporting.
  • Interest rate management. Secure best rates for deposit / instant access accounts across all geographies. Review exposure to floating interest rates and design an appropriate hedge strategy. Prepare hedge documentation and monitor effectiveness.
  • Intercompany financing. Develop and set required intra-group lending structures and agreements. Manage cross border financings and manage / align transfer pricing requirements at a group and local level.
  • Systems, infrastructure and automation. In the longer term, identify and implement necessary treasury management systems and automate information flow e.g. bank balances, reporting. Identify loan management system to handle all loan interest calculations, hedge effectiveness testing and necessary information undertakings.
  • Regulatory and compliance. Review wider controls needed through procurement process. Formalise a credit check process for the group for construction providers being paid in advance. Monitor and manage any other regulatory compliance regarding treasury matters.

Requirements

  • Experience setting up treasury functions from scratch, with broad responsibility over the function.
  • Pro-activeness / self-starter who is willing to get hands on.
  • Experience working in a multi-company, multi-currency group environment with multiple banks involved.
  • Experience working with transfer pricing policies and inter-company funding agreements.
  • Experience working with project finance loans.
  • Any relevant treasury (ACT, CTP) and accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working in the renewable development industry is desirable but not essential.
