Director Risk, Ethics & Security
Job Description
The Director of Risk, Ethics & Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading an integrated framework for enterprise risk mitigation, corporate ethics oversight, and physical security across Hanwha Energy USA and its subsidiaries. This role ensures the organization proactively identifies and mitigates operational, financial, reputational, and physical security risks while strengthening ethical standards and investigative processes. This director-level leader oversees enterprise insurance programs, risk assessments, claims management, incident reduction strategies, ethics investigations, and site-level security protocols. The employee may be required to perform other job‑related duties as requested by management. All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Management
- Develops and maintains a holistic, company‑wide risk management strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes enterprise risks across operational, financial, physical, and reputational domains.
- Partners with legal, safety, finance, operations, and data center teams to mitigate risks and reduce incident frequency.
- Provides enterprise risk reporting to leadership and recommends proactive mitigation actions.
- Ensures alignment between risk frameworks, insurance strategy, and operational protocols.
Insurance & Claims Management
- Leads oversight of all corporate insurance programs, including property, casualty, liability, energy assets, and specialty policies.
- Manages insurance placement, renewals, broker relationships, market evaluations, and long‑term strategy development.
- Analyzes claims trends, loss data, and coverage adequacy to optimize risk‑transfer solutions.
- Oversees or evaluates the handling of insurance claims, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
- Works cross‑functionally to reduce incidents that drive claims activity.
Ethics & Investigations
- Oversees corporate ethics processes including internal investigations, advisory, and incident escalation.
- Conducts or leads impartial investigations into ethics concerns, policy violations, and workplace integrity issues.
- Recommends corrective actions, policy updates, and structural improvements to strengthen ethical culture.
- Serves as a trusted partner to HR, Legal, Compliance, and leadership on sensitive employee and business matters.
Physical Security Oversight
- Leads the development and oversight of security programs across offices, operational sites, and data center facilities.
- Establishes physical access control standards, incident reporting processes, and emergency response protocols.
- Partners with operations, facilities, and corporate leadership to ensure consistent site‑level security practices.

Materials Business Unit Trade Compliance
- Supports compliance requirements of Hanwha Energy USA's Materials business unit, including without limitation ITAR and foreign-trade zone matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, insurance management, ethics/investigations, physical security, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience managing insurance programs, broker relationships, and claims oversight.
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks, incident reduction strategies, and cross‑functional decision making.
- Proven ability to lead confidential investigations with strong judgment and discretion.
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self‑starter comfortable operating in a dynamic, high‑growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Prior leadership of enterprise‑level insurance portfolios or ERM programs.
- Certifications such as ARM, CPCU, CCEP, CHPA, CPP, or similar.
- Experience supporting data centers or industrial facilities.
Compensation: $195,000 - $220,000 salary
